Removal of Willow Trees - Ranui Street

Removal of several willow trees at end of Ranui Street where the stormwater outlet is. This commitment was proposed nearly thirty years with MDC approval. It is now time  and well overdue to carry out that removal of those invasive nuisance trees with a general tidy up. My iwi Te Atiawa has a Waipuna Restoration Plan in a commitment with different stages to improve, restore the Waipuna Stream with plantings, pest control and stream monitoring  With nearby Waitohi Picton Community Garden the area will be a better experience, not only local community but also visitors to this area. Education for local schools along with community involvement will give knowledge and participation, however currently those willow trees are a barrier to that progress

Why the contribution is important

Time to remove the invasive nuisance trees and undertake a general tidy up for a better experience, not only local community but also visitors to this area.
