McCormicks Rd Rubbish and Recycling Collection

The contractors ignored this road initially and after pressure was applied they started collecting in a small truck as they deemed the road too narrow for their regular, larger truck. The proposal now is that Marlborough Roads will widen the sea end of McCormicks Rd and create a turning space for the larger truck.

It is imperative that local residents have the opportunity to submit on that resource consent as some of us understand the geotechnical issues surrounding that length of road.

Recycling and Reuse Shop at the Picton Transfer Station

Before Waste Management took the contract there used to be a small scale “shop” where useful goods could be bought for reuse. Repurpose, Reuse and Recycle is the motto I understand.

In the interests of reducing wasteful dumping could a facility of this type please be reinstated?
