Reducing Feral Cat Populations
Mandatory microchipping, desexing, and registration would eliminate the issue of unwanted kittens being abandoned, which often leads to the proliferation of feral cats. Reducing feral cat numbers will mitigate their impact on native wildlife, helping conservation groups like ours to achieve the goal of Predator Free 2050.

Proposed By-law
We urge the Council to adopt a by-law requiring all domestic cats to be microchipped, desexed, and registered. This measure will safeguard domestic cats while empowering conservation efforts to protect Marlborough's native species.
