Fences

That the residential fence bylaw be amended to include hedges as in Nelson, where a hedge is defined as a fence and means a row of shrubs capable of developing to a height of over 1.0m having branches or leaves that interleave as to form a visual or physcial barrier. That the maximum height is 1.8m above ground level (same as a fence) and that hedges be cut to 1.6m above ground level, this allows for 200mm of growth when the hedge must be cut to remain compliant. (If a hedge was cut to 1.8m it could be noncompliant within a few days, clearly not a sensible situation).
